Within the framework of the Master's programme in Global Studies, a relevant practice of 6 ECTS credits is required for the testing and practice-oriented application of the acquired knowledge and skills, which corresponds to 150 working hours. The practice can be completed in Germany and abroad, preferably at state-authorized and recognized institutions, at relevant NGOs and international organizations, and must be applied for. Detailed information on this can be found under Application/Recognition.

Participation in projects carried out by university institutes or other university institutions can only be recognized if it can be proven that there is no possibility of carrying out the compulsory practice at a non-university institution. The practice must be organised independently and autonomously and must be completed as part of the course of study.

There is also the possibility of completing an internship as a free optional subject.

In the curriculum 17W (expiring), a compulsory practical training of 400 hours must be completed.
